رأيته شاباً فى حوالى العشرين عاماً يعالج ناياً ، ويعزف لحناً جميلاً ، كانت ليلة قمرية ، يقوم مستمتعاً ما بين وقت وآخر بالمرور بين الشجر والزهور وقد يلتقط من الأرض ما سقط ، يلمح أشباحاً من طرف خفى ويظهر لا مبالاة بما يسير فى الحدائق الخلفية للقصر ، ولكنه يسجلها بنوع خاص من متعه رؤية العشاق ، كان له أن دخل مرات اللعبة ، فالسيدة التى هى آنسة وأميرة جميلة محبة تواعد الحبيب عند إشراقه القمر فى الحدائق الخلفية ، تجهز الوصيفة بملابس مماثلة تماماً لملابسها لتكون بديلة عند الخطر وكم حلت الوصيفة ضيفة على السجن الصغير فى القصر ، وكان بادر محمد بن عبدون بمد يد المساعدة بأكل أو بفتح الذراعين المربوطين ثم ربطها قبيل زيارة السجان ” . ” طقطق يا مطر ، على البيوت على النوافذ ، خذ كل ساعات الضجر .. تعال يا مطر ادخل إلى عمق الأعماق .. اغسل دواخل الأنفس .. تغلغل أنقذ إلى الداخل .. اغسل كل الصدأ .. ثم عاد فعانق البحر .. “ ” حافية أنا كنت .. ورمال البحر هادئة حنينة ، دافئة .. أرسل بصرى إلى البعيد .. أبعده أكثر .. أبحث فى داخلى عن تلك اليمامية .. أعرك عينى .. قالت لى يمامية فى داخلى : لا تعركى عينيك .. دعيهما .. منذ أن جاء الشجر يزحف .. وعيناك عميتا .
