بين أيدينا مخطوطة التقى فيها العراقي والنجدي والحجازي لتمتزج الجغرافيا بالتاريخ في إطار العلم والأدب، فهذه مخطوطة عُنيَت بأخبار نجد وصاحبها من الحجاز ومصدر أخبارها في العراق. هذه المخطوطة التي احتوت تسعة مباحث و42 خبرًا تساهم في بعث المجلات العلمية القديمة والتذكير بأهميتها كمصدر لا يُستغنى عنه في الدراسات التاريخية حيث أن مؤلفها الشيخ محمد نصيف (ت 1391/1971م) من أوائل الناس الذين أدركوا في وقتٍ مبكر قيمة ما نشرته مجلة لغة العرب البغدادية من مباحث وأخبار تتعلق بنجد خصوصًا وبالجزيرة العربية عمومًا فهيأها في هذا المجموع وربما كان لديه نية في طباعتها لتكون في متناول القارئ بعد ذلك، ولكن ذلك لم يحدث لأسباب لا نعلمها؛ ولذا فإن نشرها الآن بعد زيادة تحقيقها وتدقيقها سيكون مفيدًا للباحثين في التاريخ السعودي عامة وفي العلاقات السعودية العراقية خاصة. وفي حين يؤكد محقق المخطوطة أن نشرها يأتي في إطار إحياء التراث المهمَل لرائد من رواد العلم والثقافة في المملكة العربية السعودية وفاءً وتقديرًا لجهوده التي لم تلقَ الاهتمام الكافي من الدارسين والباحثين؛ فإنه إتمامًا للعمل ألحق الكتاب بمستدرك للأخبار الواردة في مجلة لغة العرب التي لم تستوعبها المخطوطة رغم كثرتها وجرى ترتيبها وترقيمها حسب تسلسلها التاريخي حسب السنوات بحيث ترد أخبار كل سنة متسلسلة مستقلة عن أخبار السنة الأخرى وقد بلغت مجموع الأخبار المستدركة 145 خبرًا.
