هل كان لشاعرنا القديم نظرية محددة في الشعر ينطلق منها حين ينظم تجاربه؟ فإن وقع ذلك فإلي أي مدى تجلت تلك النظرية في إبداعه؟ وما مواضع الاعتداد بها علي المستويين النظري والتطبيقي؟ وما قيمتها في تفسير حركات التجديد التي أضافت إلي القصيدة العربية ما زادها خصباً ونماء؟
هذه هي الأسئلة الكبري التي تتمحور حولها هذه الدراسة -الموجزة- محاولة الإجابة عليها من واقع خلاصة قراءة دواوين بعض أعلام الشعر العباسي ممن لمعت أسماؤهم في عالم الإبداع الفني من جانب، ودارت حولهم الحوارات النقدية عبر مصادرنا القديمة والدراسات المعاصرة من جانب آخر.
ومن منطلق المعاصرة بين الشعراء كان تطرق الدرس إلي تحليل موقفين آخرين أحدهما لابن المعتز، في محاولة لتحديد موقعه من حقول النظرية الشعرية، خاصة أن ابن المعتز قد تجاوز منهج الأستاذين (أبي تمام والبحتري) منذ اقتحم حقل التأليف.
ولا يكاد الستار يسدل علي ابن المعتز حتي يطل علينا شعر ابن الرومي بمقاييسه الفنية الخاصة، وبما احتواه من دلالات كاشفة عن مفاهيمه لمحاور الإبداع انطلاقا من اعتزاله ومنهجه الفكري من جانب، واتساقا مع متطلبات المرحلة وصراعات الفترة وتعدد توجهات مدارسها من جانب آخر.
ثم تتواصل المدرسة الأدبية الناقدة، وتشهد المزيد من صور النضج والاكتمال عبر القرن الرابع الهجري منذ نفخ المتنبي فيها من روحه، فأضاف وجدد وابتكر بما يحمل اسمه واسم عصره، فكان له إسهامه البارز والواعد في صياغة النظرية النقدية التي صدر عنها منذ أعلن غضبه من النقاد، وضيقه بشروطهم، إلي محاولة تجاوزه لها ولهم.
