Book Description
تعمل "مارجوري" ممرضة في قسم الطوارئ بمستشفى المدينة وتصاب بكسر في عقبها الذي يلزمها الفراش. ولم يكن هذا فقط ما حدث لها، بل تسرق أختها كل رصيدها في البنك وتهرب مع محاسب يعمل في ملهى ليلي، يتفق صاحب الملهى والممرضة ذات الساق الموضوعة في الجبس على مطاردة اللصين لاستعادة نقودهما. ورغم أن صاحب الملهى سبق له الزواج مرتين واستولت مطلقتاه على كل مدخراته، مما جعله يقسم على عدم إقامة علاقة مع أي امرأة. إلا أنه عندما اتصل بالممرضة تليفونياً وقع في الحال صريع هواها، وبدأ يتردد عليها بمساعدتها في محنتها الذي زاد من قسوتها وقوع حادثة حريق في المبنى الذي تقع فيه شقتها. مما يضطرها للإقامة معه إلى أن يتم إصلاحها. ورغم اختلاف طباعهما حيث كانت الممرضة تميل إلى الاستقلال وعدم الاعتماد على أحد، بينما فرض صاحب الملهى عليها نفسه واتخذ القرارات التي تخصها بدلاً منها مستغلاً في ذلك عجزها الجسدي والمادي. أحداث متلاحقة ومثيرة تجري بين الصراع العاطفي بين الممرضة وصاحب الملهى وبين كل منهما ونفسيهما فضلاً عن المطاردة المستمرة للصين.
