هذا الكتاب تناول فيه مؤلفه العديد من القضايا العامة التي تؤخذ على كتاب عبد الحليم أبو شقة المسمى بـ (تحرير المرأة في عصر الرسالة)، فتكلم عن الإشكالية الرئيسية للكتاب وصورة المرأة التي يريدها المؤلف، وكيف تعامل مع المصطلحات المعاصرة، وقضية أمن الفتنة وموقفه منها.
كما تناول أيضاً منهج المؤلف في الاستدلال على الموضوعات التي تطرق لها في كتابه، وأنه يتبع المتشابه من النصوص، ويترك المحكم، وكثيراً ما تختل الأمانة العلمية لديه عند التعامل مع النصوص، كما أنه يتكلف في الاستدلال، ويحمل النصوص ما لا تحتمل، وبيَّن موقفه من بعض الأحاديث المتعلقة بالمرأة. كما تحدث المؤلف عن أبرز القضايا التي حاول أبو شقة إثباتها والتأصيل لها كدعوى مشروعية الاختلاط بين الرجال والنساء في شتى ميادين الحياة، وإظهار المرأة زينتها للرجال، وادعائه أن الحجاب مما اختصت به أمهات المؤمنين دون غيرهن، وبين المؤلف وحق الشبه بين كتاب أبي شقة هذا وكتاب قاسم أمين المسمى بـ (تحرير المرأة) ليظهر اثنين وعشرين وجهاً من أوجه التشابه بين الكتابين.
