سمعت طرقات هادئة على الباب .. ثم رنين الجرس. لابد أنه هو.. المهندس (عزيز شعبان) .. أسرعت نحو الباب لأفتحه قبل أن يغير رأيه و يرحل.قال لى بمجرد أن رآنى: ما هو الأمر الخطير الذى طلبتنى من أجله؟ ابتسمت بصعوبة و قلت له: أهلا يا (باشمهندس). أفسحت مجالا لدخوله و قلت فاردا ذراعى إلى داخل شقتى: تفضل .. أنت ضيفى .. لن نتحدث على الباب. عقد ذراعيه أمام صدره و قال بلهجة حاسمة: لن أدخل.. وأخبرنى الآن ما هو الأمر الخطير الذى طلبت منى أن أزورك من أجله. أمسكت ذراعه لأشجعه على الدخول وقلت بلهجة ترحاب: لن يصح هذا .. تفضل يا (باشمهندس). تملص منى بصعوبة وقال بلهجة حادة: لن أدخل. اختفت ابتسامتى تماما وهو يقول: لست مطمئنا لك.. منذ قابلتك أول مرة و حتى هذه اللحظة. وما الذى دفعك للمجىء هنا الآن؟ أنت اتصلت بى و طلبت هذا منى. أعلم.. ولكن كان بإمكانك تجاهل ما قلته وعدم المجىء. صمت للحظات ثم قال: إنه الفضول اللعين .. حديثك كان مريبا .. لقد أخبرتنى أن هناك أمر خطير جدا و لا يمكنك أن تخبرنى به إلا هنا .. ظللت أفكر فى هذا الأمر الخطير .. و للأسف لم أستطع تخمينه .. فجئت لأريح نفسى من التفكير. ابتسمت ابتسامة شيطانية و قلت: حسنا .. و إذا غادرت الآن ستظل طول عمرك تتساءل عن هذا الأمر الخطير .. أما إذا دخلت فسوف تعرف كل شىء. تحركت من مكانى للداخل و قلت: الخيار لك .. إما الدخول أو الانصراف. قال و هو يعدل من وقفته: لا أعتقد أن الفضول سيقتلنى .. و فى نفس الوقت أشك فى مسألة الأمر الخطير هذه. وشعرت أنه قرر الانصراف بالفعل .. ففكرت بسرعة و قلت مستغلا مهارتى فى جذب الانتباه والتى تعلمتها من خبرتى الطويلة فى حياتى العلمية والعملية: الأمر الخطير يخص (نادين). توقف مكانه .. لقد نجحت فى جذب انتباهه .. أكملت: زوجتك. لم يحسم أمره بعد .. لابد من المزيد فقلت: يمكنك الانصراف إذا كنت لا تهتم بالأمر .. و لن أخبرك به أبدا .. أما إذا كنت تريد معرفته فلتدخل الآن و لن آخذ من وقتك الكثير. حسم أمره أخيرا و اتجه نحو الباب .. لقد غلبه الفضول تماما .. ابتسمت و قلت لأطمئنه: فقط دقائق معدودة.وفى خلال دقيقة .. دخلت إلى إحدى الغرف ثم عدت منها .. سألنى بفضول عند عودتى وكان جالسا على احد المقاعد: أخبرنى الآن .. ما هو الأمر الخطير؟ ولماذا دخلت هذه الغرفة؟ ما الذى أحضرته منها؟ أخرجت مسدسا من جيبى على الفور و قلت بهدوء قاتل: الآن نتحدث.
