يضم الكتاب روايتان من الخيال العلمي، سمي بعنوان الأولى: البحث عن عوالم أخرى، والثانية : الممر إلى نبع السحاب. ويتناول في الأولى أحداثاً تقع في العام 2090م، إذ تنطلق محطة فضاء في طريقها نحو (ألغا - فنطورس) أقرب نجم إلى الأرض في المجرة ، وعلى متنها ستة رواد من مختلف الاختصاصات توزعوا في أجنحة السفينة بانتباه تام. وتلتقي سفينة الرواد هذه بأناس من كوكب كارون أصيبوا بكارثة دمرت كثيراً منهم، ومدينتهم، ويستنجدون بالرواد لمشاركتهم في الرحلة إلى (ألفا قنطورس) بسفينتهم التي ليست ضخمة كسفينة الرواد.. ويتعاون الجميع في كشف الكواكب الأاخرى التي تدور حول (ألفاقنطورس)، ويهبطون فوق أحدها، وتدور أحداث عجيبة بين الرواد والكارونيين، ويرفرف الحب بدفئه فتخفق قلوب بالحب ويشهد أحد الكواكب أول زواج بشري، ويبدؤون عصراً جديداً يحلمون بألا يحمل المستقبل لهم مفاجآت محزنة، في إطار يمتزج فيه الواقع بالخيال والعلم بالقوى الخفية للإنسان. ويتناول في الرواية الثانية قافلة تقصد إحدى مدن الصحراء الحافلة بالآثار والمخطوطات والأماكن القديمة ويسكنها أناس طيبون فحسب ، وما يتعرضون له من مخاطر وعقبات في مغامراتهم تلك، ومن عبورهم ممرات الموت ليصلوا إلى أرض الأحلام، في إطار من الأحداث يختلط فيها المعقول بغير المألوف، بلغة ممتعة ومشاعر عاطفية دفاقة، تربط شاب وفتاة يتجهان معاً نحو مدينة تعانق السحاب، ويتسلقان منحدراتها، ويخفق قلب كل منهما بحب الآخر.
