الكتاب أيضاً يحفل بحلول للمعضلات التي يثيرها السؤال المطروح والمفاجآت العلمية التي تخطف الأنفاس ولعلي أفتح شهية القارئ بمثال واحد: العثور على كائنات حية تعيش في مستعمرات مزدهرة ومتنامية بالقرب من فوهات براكين أعماق المحيطات، وعند درجة حرارة تتراوح ما بين 115 إلى 160، وكائنات غيرها تعيش بالإزدهار نفسه في أعماق جلاميد الثلج بقارة أنتاركتيكا بالقطب المتجمد الجنوبي، ثم العثور على فئات أخرى من الكائنات تتغذى فقط على أغرب ما يمكن ان يشطح إليه الخيال مثل المواد الكيميائية السامة، أو الحديد أو القار أو الإسمنت.. إلخ..
