وبالكتاب مقارنة واضحة بين المتوسط العددي والمتوسط الكتلي للكتل المولارية وتأثير ذوبان وتأثير الوقي الأيونية على الاتزان الأسموزي، واستخدام عملية الطرد المركزي الفوقي، والعلاقة بين سرعة الترسب واستخدامها في تقدير أشكال الكتل المولارية للجزيئات والاستضاءة في هذا المجال من الاتزانات بالترسب، وتضمن ايضاً طريقة تقدير الشحنات على سطح الدقائق الغروية، وطريقة اللزوجة الذاتية.
وقد أشار الكتاب إلى خاصية فيزيائية هامة للجزئيات الضخمة وهي قدرتها على تشتيت الضوء والاستفادة من العلاقات في تقدير تصنيف قطر الدقيقة ومن ثم الكتلة المولارية.
