ومن المؤمل أن يستفيد من هذا الكتاب المواطن العادي الذي يرغب في الحصول على المعلومات الأساسية التي من شأنها أن تعينه في التعامل السليم مع الأجهزة الكهربائية المنزلية. وهو يخدم بشكل خاص ربة البيت وأفراد الأسرة الذين تشكل هذه الأجهزة جزءاً من حياتهم اليومية لا يمكن الاستغناء عنه. ومن ناحية أخرى يمكن أن يستفيد من هذا الكتاب طلبة المدارس الإعدادية والثانوية عن طريق تعزيز فهمهم لمبحث التربية المهنية الذي يشكل جزءاً من الخطة الدراسية المطبقية في هذه المدارس. ويمكن إيجاز الأهداف التي يرمي إليها الكتاب في ما يلي:

2-التعريف بالتركيب والأجهزة الكهربائية المنزلية بشكل مبسط، من حيث التركيب ومبدأ العمل من الوجهة الكهربائية.
3-التشغيل الصحيح للتركيبات والأجهزة الكهربائية المنزلية لتحاشي تعرّضها للأعطال والتلف وتجنب مستخدميها الأخطار الناجمة عن الاستخدام الذي لا يراعي شروط الأمن والسلامة.
4-إجراء أعمال الخدمة العادية والصيانة البسيطة للتركيبات والأجهزة الكهربائية وتشخيص الأعطال الصغيرة وإصلاحها.
5-التعريف بالعدد والأدوات المختلفة البسيطة اللازمة توافرها في المنزل لأغراض خدمة التركيبات والأجهزة الكهربائية وإجراء أعمال الصيانة البسيطة لها.
6-التعريف بأسباب الصدمة الكهربائية وطبيعتها وأساليب تفاديها ومعالجة المصاب بها.
