هذه الموسوعة البحرية عن الحداق تعد جزءا من إصدارات المركز عن تراثنا البحري، وهي تشمل مادة مرجعية مهمة يستعان بها في مجال أسماك الكويت وأنواعها، وطرق صيدها، وأدوات الصيد غير ذلك مما يتصل بالبيئة البحرية. بدأت الموسوعة بتمهيد يوضح الطرق التقليدية للصيد في الكويت، والأوقات والأحوال المناسبة للحداق، وعلاقة ذلك بالدورة القمرية، بالإضافة إلى إرشادات ذات قيمة لعملية الصيد بالقوارب. ثم خصصت بابا للألفاظ الاصطلاحية لصيادي السمك في الكويت مرتبة ترتيبا هجائيا، وبابا ثانيا يعرف "بمعجم الأسماك" قدمت فيه معلومات وافرة ومفيدة، ثم أعقبت ذلك بثالث عن القواقع والشرايب (السلطعونات)، ولاكتمال الفائدة أفردت بابا عن الطيور البحرية. وأخيرا ذكرت تصنيفا للأسماك بحسب درجتها من الجودة، وطرائق بيعها، والمرغوب في شرائه منها وغيره. وهي مزودة بالكثير من الصور الملونة ذات القيمة والفائدة الكبرى في هذا المجال.
