نبذة النيل والفرات: لم يكن خروج المرأة العربية إلى العمل بدافع مادي محض في حضارة تجعل أمر توفير الرزق على عاتق الرجل، لكن هناك عوامل كثيرة شكلت في مجموعها حوافز للمرأة كي تنخرط في النشاط العام للمجتمع. والدراسة التي وضعتها الدكتورة كاميلين إبراهيم عبد الفتاح تلقي الضوء على سيكولوجية المرأة العاملة بمنهج شمولي يأخذ بعين الاعتبار الآثار المترتبة على خروج المرأة للعمل سواء على الأسرة والزوج والأولاد إذ أن المرأة ليست سوى وحدة صغيرة في جماعة الأسرة وجماعة العمل. وتعرض المؤلفة في الفصل الأول سيكولوجية المرأة الأساسية من وجهة نظر التحليل النفسي حتى تقف على الأساس والملامح والصورة النفسية العامة للمرأة. أما في الفصل الثاني فقد ركزت المؤلفة على وضع المرأة في التطور التاريخي للبشرية فتتبع من خلاله الأدوار المختلفة التي فرضت على المرأة أو التي قامت بها، كما تحاول أيضاً استقراء العوامل التي أدت غلى وضع المرأة للعمل خارج المنزل. أما في الفصل الثالث فقد تناولت خروج المرأة لميدان العمل والظروف الاقتصادية والاجتماعية التي رافقت ذلك، واستعرض في الفصل الرابع أهم البحوث العلمية في موضوع خروج المرأة للعمل وقد لاحظت أن معظم هذه البحوث اعتمدت على وسائل للدراسة يشك في قيمتها العلمية. كما أنها لم توضح أثر اشتغال المرأة عليها هي ذاتها وعلى الرجل كزميل لها في العمل. وقد كان هذا دافعاً للدكتورة كاميليا كي تشرع ببحث تستكمل فيه جميع هذه الجوانب فتعرض لنا في الفصل الخامس للمنهج الذي اتبعته وخطوات البحث وأدواته وعرضت في الفصل السادس لنتائج بحثها التي بنيت أن المرأة كحقيقة واقعة دخلت ميدان العمل وتعمل في جميع مجالاته النظرية والعملية وأن العمل يحقق لها إشاعات نفسية اجتماعية تتعلق بالأهمية والمكانة والشعور بالقيمة كما أدى إلى تغير في أنماط العلاقات الإنسانية بين الرجل والمرأة وبالتالي تغير في القيم التي تستند إليها هذه العلاقات.
