تعمل "أليشا" محامية مبتدئة في مكتب محاماة شهيرة بالمدينة وتكلف بالقضايا الغريبة وتطمح أن تصبح أشهر محامية جنائية، يطلب منها رئيس المكتب وصاحبه تنفيذ ملحق وصية أحد الأثرياء الذي يوصي فيه بأن يورث كبير خدمه البريطاني العجوز إلى حفيدة ضمن ضيعته الضخمة التي تركها له في أمريكا، وتواجه المحامية الشابة بمعارضة شديدة من الشاب الوريث الذي يعيش حياة الترحال حول العالم ولا يريد أن يستقر في مكان واحد. تكتشف المحامية أن هدف الجد هو أن يعمل كبير الخدم على استقرار حفيده وتكوين أسرة باعتباره آخر سلالة العائلة. ويقع الحفيد في حب المحامية وتبادله الحب ولكن المحامية تمر بظروف قاسية تتعلق بمستقبلها المهني كما أن حياة الترحال لا تسمح بالاستقرار للوريث الشاب وتحدث مفارقات ومواقف بعضها مؤلم وبعضها مضحك فهل ينفذ وصية الجد؟ وما نتيجة الحب بين المحامية والوريث؟
