هذا كتاب جديد يختلف عن غيره كثيراً اختلاف، فهو ليس فقط كتاباً للطبيب أو للقارئ العادي، وإنما لهما معاً: فالكتاب يخوض في قضايا رفيعة المستوى، لكنه ما يلبث أن يوضح ما يخوض فيه بلغة تجمع بين الدقة العلمية والاصطلاحية من جهة والإفهام المتيسر من جهة أخرى، وقد أراد له صاحبه أن يكون مرجعاً في كل بيتـ يفزع إليه الصحيح قبل المريض، فيجدان فيه ضالتهما قبل زيادة الطبيب وبعدها، إنه كتاب يستحق أن يجلس متربعاً في مكتبة كل بيت، وهل هناك ما يشغل الناس أكثر من أمراض القلب، فأمراض القلب سبب للكثير من الوفيات في المجتمع، وقد تغني معرفتها والتبحر فيها كثيراً في الحفاظ على سلامة القلب والأوعية الدموية. يبدأ الكتاب باستعراض تشريح القلب والأوعية الدموية، ولا يغفل الحديث عن وظائفهما (الفيزيولوجيا)، ويتخذ في سبيل ذلك أسلوباً واضحاً دونما مواربة أو التفاف، ثم يدلف شيئاً فشيئاً نحو مشاكل القلب وأمراضه، ولا ينسى الحديث عن دور التغذية والطعام في صحة القلب ومرضه، كما يخوض في أثر الضغوط الاجتماعية والنفسية والرياضية والاسترخاء، يبين وخامة المرض ولكنه لا ينسى الحديث عن الوقاية منه وعلاجه، كما يزيّن فقرات النصوص والمقاطع بلوحات جميلة أسماها "القلب السليم" يوشيها بنصائح من ذهب في كل ركن وزاوية، ويضع جداول إيضاحية تخدم الغرض.
