وهكذا تشكّلت من صعود تيموجين السريع إلى السلطة، أوسع إمبراطورية امتدت على مساحات متجاورة من الأرض. فقد بدأ شاباً يتيم الأب، يتفانى في الدفاع عن حق أسرته، ثم زعيم قبيلة، محاطاً برهط من الأتباع المخلصين، ومن بعدها زعيماً لعدة قبائل، يمضي لتوحيد الشعوب في الفيافي الآسيوية، تحت راية الثروة الموعودة والجاه، ثم ليصبح أخيراً جنكيز خان، سيد العالم، الذي ترك بأعماله وردود أفعاله وما أبرمه من معاهدات واتفاقيات، آثاراً لا يزال صداها يتردد إلى يومنا هذا. فمعاهدة الصلح بين التيبت والصين التي خط مسودتها في الأصل أحد الحكام المغول، بقيت حتى وقتنا الحاضر أساساً معتمداً بين البلدين. كما أن قصائد جلال الدين الرومي التي يتردد صداها حول العالم، من كاليفورنيا حتى طوكيو، نشأت بداية وتغلغلت في مسامع الناس زمن سيادة الحكم المغولي. في حين أدى بناء المغول عاصمة الصين الحالية «بكين»، واعتمادها لتكون عاصمة للصين الموحدة آنذاك، إلى خلق روابط روحية وثقافية لا تزال تؤلف بين شعوب غرب آسيا وشرقها إلى اليوم.
