شهاداتٌ تنبض بالألم والقهر والإحساس بالظلم.. اطمأنّ السجناءُ إلى الكاتبة وهي الصحفية الوحيدة التي سمح لها بولوج خفايا سجن غوانتانامو، وراحوا يبثّونها كل معاناتهم في الحاضر، وذكرياتهم وأفكارهم وأحلامهم، وأشواقهم لأُسرهم التي ما عادوا عنها يعلمون أمراً.. وهم سُجناء من مختلف المستويات والمشارب: نخبويون وعاديون، مثقّفون وجهلة.. ولكلّ منهم حكاية لا تشبه الحكايات، عما جرى من قبلُ وما يجري خلف أسوار سجن غوانتانامو الرهيب، حيث يتحوَّل الإنسانُ رقماً، مجرّد رقمٍ، فيسهل آنذاك ركله وتعنيفه وإذلاله جسداً وروحاً.. السجين 1154 مثلاً لا يعني لجلاديه إلا بقدر ما يكون أداة لتسليتهم والترفيه عنهم وتحقيق نزواتهم.. ولا يمكن، بنظرهم، أن يكون رجلاً حقيقياً فاعلاً في المجتمع له أطفالٌ بانتظاره وزوجة وأهل!! وقائع عن سجناء في معظمهم أوقفوا بغير وجه حقّ وقيل زوراً وبهتاناً أنهم الأسوأ والأخطر على أمريكا.. كتابٌ نزع آخر ورقة توت عن إنسانية الغرب!!
