تَعَلَّقَتِ الشَّقْرَاءُ الصَّغِيرَةُ بِأَبِيهَا ضَاحِكَةً وَقَالَتْ : - أَبي لَقَدْ مَلَلْتُ مِنْ هُدوءِ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ ، وَمِنْ هَذِهِ الْألْعَابِ الْكَثِيرَةِ. أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُغَيـِّرَ الْـجَوَّ ، أُرِيدُ أَن أَخرُجَ إلَى الْـخَارجِ لأَتَفَرَّجَ عَلَى مَا فِي الدُّنْيَا الْوَاسعَةِ. ضَحِكَ الْأبُ وَهُوَ يَرْفَعُ صَغِيرَتَهُ بَيْـنَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ وَأَجَابَهَا : إِيَّاكِ أَنْ تَفْعَلِي مَا فَعَلَهُ الْعِجْلُ الْهَارِبُ. وَمَاذَا فَعَلَ الْعِجْلُ يَـا أَبِي ؟ هَذَا وَقْتُ الْعَمَلِ سَأَذْهَبُ الآنَ إِلَيْهِ ، وَعِنْدَمَا أَعُودُ سَأَقُصُّ عَلَيْكِ قِصَّةَ هَذَا الْعِجْلِِ. قَبَّلَتِ الصَّغِيرَةُ أَبَاهَا ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَتْ إِلَى لُعَبِهَا.
