في جديدها الشعري "حراً عل آخرك" تختصر رولا سرحان ما يزيد عن نصف قرن من حياة الإنسان الفلسطيني، تمزج الأمكنة بالذاكرة وتسحبها مثل نهرٍ هادرٍ في قصائد تدع الروح تجول أو تبقى تغني كما تشاء خارج الأقفاص الكثيرة والأسوار التي يقيمها المحتل والعالم باستمرار على الأرض والإنسان، فأفلحت رولا سرحان في خرقها شعراً، هذا هو مناخ الشاعرة في "حراً على آخرك" مشاهدة وعيشاً وارتحالاً، إنه قائم على عفوية القول: "الذي تتوالى فيه الصور بطريقة منتظمة، ضمن نسيج خاص، يوجد بين اللغة الأدبية، لغة الحياة اليومية للناس. في قصيدة بعنوان (إلاَ أنَنا) تقول الشاعرة رولا سرحان: "نتقاسم الرغيف بين مذبحةٍ ومنفى/ إلاَ أننَا/ عابقون باللَون والمفاتيح ومغالبة الزمن/ نرتب الحطب استعداداً للخيبات/ إلاَ أننَا/ نتصبَب محاولاتٍ تفور حرَة على الطبيعة/ كأن تعمَر نسلك كلما انطوت قامتك/ لأن خللاً أصاب وظيفةً حيوية في التكاثر/ كرحيل الأمل، (...). هكذا تبني سرحان يوتيوبياها الشعرية، ممتلئة بقلق وجودي يفتك بقلب الشاعرة وهي تجلس وحيدة تراقب الحدث، علَ أملاً جديداً يولد في قادم الأيام. يضم الكتاب ما يقارب الخمسون قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث توزعت على ثلاثة عناوين هي: 1- في الظرف حكايا- في المكان حكاية، 2- في الرؤى تنضج الرؤيا، 3- فيما لي.
