كان الإمام الغزالى قد قام بشرح هذه العقيدة بالرسالة القدسية.. وهذا الذى بين يدينا شرح العلامة "زروق" لذات العقيدة، فما الذي يدفع مؤلفاً آخر لكتابة شرح آخر وصاحب المتن أدى به، ولعل من ياتي بعده لا يدرك مقاصده كما أدركها الماتن؟ وقد نظرنا فى الشرحين فوجدنا شرح الإمام الغزالي مختصراً ويرمي إلى تقرير أدلة عقيدته إجمالاص وبالقدر الذي يفيد المسلم فى سلوك طريق الآخرة دون تعريج على قضايا هي من صميم البحث الكلامي بل هي صميم العقيدة أحياناً، مثل مسألة رؤية الله تعالى فى الآخرة التي يتعرض لها الإمام الغزالى فى الشرح. كما أن الإمام الغزالي لما شرح عقيدته فى الرسالة القدسية لم يتتبع لفظها وإنما جاء شرجه تعليقاً عاماً لا يتتبع هذه الألفاظ ومراميها وما يتفرع عليها.
