على الرغم من أن الكتاب الذي بين يدينا والذي قدمه لنا الكيميائي " محمد إسماعيل عمر" موضوعه " معالجة المياه" .. إلا أنه لم يحصر نفسه في هذا الإطار العلمي فقط، وإنما قام على صفحات فصوله بتناول القضية م كافة وجوهها.. فيلم القارئ بأطرافها وحيثياتها جيدا. فقد قدم الواقع المائي في العالم وخاصة العربي منه وكذلك الحالة المستقبلية لهذا الواقع ليمهد طريقه قبل أن ينطلق في شرح خصائص المياه وانواعها ومصادرها وأهميتها كذلك مصادر وأنواع التلوث الذي يهدد المياه ونريد من المشكلة العالمية.. وإلى جانب التلوث كعامل سلبي في هذه المشكلة نجده يتطرق أيضا إلى المياه المهدرة، وبالطبع يعرض طرق معالجة المياة بدءا من أخذ العينات وإجراء التحاليل- إلى تفصيل حالات التلوث، وتقديم طرق الحل والمعالجة لها. إنه كتاب يناقش قضية غاية في الأهمية "المياه" التى هى محور الحياة في ظل عالم تتناقص موارده المائية وتتزايد حاجته لها. ويعلم جيدا ان الصراعات المستقبلية لن تكون إلا في سبيل قطرة الماء.
