لقد جرت سيرة السلف من العلماء على ترجمة الأعلام والشخصيات وذكر الأمور الهامة في حياتهم، لكي تستفيد منها الدروس والعبر في حياتها اليومية. وقد كثرت التراجم لدي الأمامية امتثالا لوصيا الأئمة الأطهار (عليهم السلام) الذين أكدوا على تقييد كل شئ وتدوين جميع ما ينفع الناس بما في ذلك سير وأحوال العظماء لكي يحفظ التراث من الضياع والتلف، ففي الحديث : (من ورخ مؤمنا فكانمأ أحياه) وببركة التزام رجال الطائفة بوصايا أهل البيت (عليهم السلام) بتقييد العلوم بكتابة أثريت المكتبة الشيعية بالعديد من مصنفات التراجم وسير العظماء التي لا يطلع عليها أحد الا ويخرج بحصيلة كبيرة من المعارف والعبر التي ربما لا يجدها في بطون المصنفات وأعماق الكتب. ومن هذا المنطلق ـ ومن باب البر بالوالدين وخدمة المذهب ـ فقد كتب الإمام المجدد آية الله العظمى السيد محمد الحسيني الشيرازي (قده) كتابا حول والده فقيه الورع التقي آية الله العظمى الميرزا مهدي الشيرازي (قده) (والدي) جمع فيه العديد من الخواطر والذكريات، وقد طبع الكتاب عدة مرات وترجم والى بعض اللغات. وبعد رحيل الإمام المجدد آية الله العظمى السيد محمد الحسيني الشيرازي كتب الكثير من العلماء من حوله، ومنهم نجله الأكبر الفقيه آية الله السيد محمد رضا الشيرازي حيث كتب بعض ذكرياته وخواطره حول والده وقد اسماه بـ (خواطر) . وبعد استشهاد المقدس آية الله السيد محمد رضا الشيرازى كتب أيضا نجله الأكبر: السيد محمد حسن الذي لم يبلغ العمر سوي احدي عشر سنة، كتابا حول والده المقدس باللغة الفارسية، ثم ترجم والى اللغة العربية تحت عنوان (هكذا كان أبي). ونقرأ في فهرس القسم الأول: والدي القسم الثاني: خواطر القسم الثالث: هكذا كان أبي
