هذا الكتاب يتضمن ما يأتي: شرح تفصيلي مقارن بين الشريعة الإسلامية والقانون الوضعي لقواعد التحقيق الجنائي العملي والغاية من التحقيق الجنائي وخصائص المحقق الجنائي ومدى مشروعية إجراءات التحقيق الجنائي العملي وضماناته وشرح لإجراءات التحقيق الجنائي العملي مثل البلاغ والتلبس بالجريمة ومحضر التحقيق والمعاينة والخبرة والمعمل الجنائي وغيرها من إجراءات التحقيق والتعليمات العامة للنيابات بشأن إجراءات التحقيق الجنائي العملي ودور علم النفس القضائي في التحقيق الجنائي وأحدث مبادئ محكمة النقض بشأن إجراءات التحقيق الجنائي العملي وذلك فيما يلي:
أولًا: قواعد التحقيق العملي في الشريعة الإسلامية والقانون الوضعي، ثانيًا: الغاية من التحقيق والمحقق الجنائي وخصائصه وحقوقه وواجباته، ثالثًا: مشروعية إجراءات التحقيق العملي وضماناته وحقوق الإنسان، رابعًا: شرح تفصيلي لإجراءات التحقيق الجنائي العملي مثل البلاغ والتلبس بالجريمة ومحضر التحقيق والمعاينة والخبرة والمعمل الجنائي والطب الشرعي والتفتيش واستجواب المتهم والتصرف في التحقيق الجنائي وغيرها، خامسًا: التعليمات القضائية للنيابات بشأن إجراءات التحقيق الجنائي التطبيقي، سادسًا: علم النفس القضائي ودوره في التحقيق الجنائي العملي والتطبيقي، سابعًا: القواعد القانونية التي قررتها محكمة النقض بشأن إجراءات التحقيق الجنائي، ثامنًا: مرسوم بقانون رقم 96 لسنة 1952 بتنظيم الخبرات أمام جهات القضاء.
