الرفيعة وتستم السلطات التي تُخوّل صاحبها الأمر والنهي وتجعله قبلة الأنظار متى أقبل، ومجتمع الأسماع متى نطق، وصدر المجلس متى حلّ، وبعضهم يرى التميز في جمال الخلقة وقسامه الشكل وأناقة المظهر ورشاقة الحركة، وبعضهم يرى التميز في أن يشتهر بالذكاء أو البلاغة والفصاحة او بسعة المعرفة فيجتهد في نشر الكتب والدواوين وفي الإدلاء بالتعليقات والأحاديث والمحاضرات حتى لا تبقى زاوية في البلاد إلا وعرفت اسمه وأقرّت له بالتميز.
أما الأشكال الأخرى للتميز، كالتميز في الحرص على أداء الواجب أو الإخلاص في العمل والإجتهاد في إتقاته أو التميّز في الطيف المعشر وبشاشة الوجه، أو التميز في التسامح والمغفرة، فهذه أشكال للتميز لا تجذب كثيراً من الناس ومن ثم لا تغريهم بالمطاردة والركض.
لكن كتاب "الطريق إلى التميز) يتحدى ذلك الإنصراف من الناس فيتحدث إليهم عن التميز في شكله الإداري وكيف يمكن للفرد أن يتميز في إدارة عمله وفي تطويره وتنميته، وهو كتاب سهل القراءة، صغير الحجم، يحوي أمثلة من داخل المجتمع السعودي تجعل مادته قريبة إلى الواقع، ملامسة للنماذج الموجودة في المجتمع.
