نبذة النيل والفرات: هذه دراسة عرض فيها المؤلف للأصول العامة التي تكون الإطار الشامل للعلوم القانونية. فتحدث عن القاعدة القانونية معرفاً بها من حيث مدلولها وتحليلها بعد ذلك قام بتحديد نطاقها وبيان أنواعها، ثم بين بعد ذلك المصادر التي تستقى منها وأخيراً قام بتعريف الحدود التي تنطبق فيها، وهدفه مساعدة المبتدئ على الإلمام بصفة عامة بالمبادئ الأساسية التي يرتكز عليها القانون في جملته. وإذا كان هذا غرض المؤلف من هذه الدراسة، فسوف لا تكون هناك تفصيلات فرعية إلا بالقدر الضروري لتوضيح الفكرة وتحديد معالمها. وذلك حرصاً منه إلى إبراز الأصول الكلية، حتى لا تطغى عليها الجزئيات، وحيث اقتضى المر منه دراسة أحكام القانون أو الإشارة إلى نصوص كان القانون اللبناني والقانون المصري هو المعول بالنسبة له.
