نبذة النيل والفرات: يشكل هذا العمل سيرة شخصية للأمير، دهام بن دوَاس (1738-1773م) أمير الرياض، في النصف الأخير من القرن الثاني عشر الهجري تناول خلاله المؤلف جوانب مهمة وغامضة من حياة هذا العلم الشهير، وطرعاته الدامية على السلطة في محيط يقاربه اجتماعياً ودينياً وسياسياً. يبدأ الكتاب بتعريف لوجود قبيلة مطير في كثير من بلدات وبوادي اليمامة. وخاصة العفسة ثم نبذة مختصرة عن نسب العفسة، وقصرهم المشهور، ولماذا سمي القصر؟ بهذا الإسم، وما ذكرته الروايات عنه، يتبع ذلك عرض تاريخي لبداية حكم الجلاليل، ثم نشأة الأمير دهام وتأثره بالبادية والحاضرة، وفهمه السياسي لمجريات الأحداث مع القوى المحيطة به، وما يتخللها من مد وجزر . وما قيل في الرياض، ثم المعارك الحربية التي خاضها دهام بحسب ما وردت في كتب التاريخ ضد القوى المحيطة به، وخاصة الدرعية، واسباب خروجه من الرياض، واستقراره في الاحساء، وأخيراً نبذة مختصرة عن سورة المشهور قصره التاريخي، وقد ألحق الكتاب بصورٍ تاريخية فوتغرافية هامة لبعض المواقع الأثرية في السعودية.
