حين انتهيت من رواية ميرفت جمعة، شعرت بحرقة داخلية، طاقة عالية يحفزها الحزن و حسرة الفقد، هنا صفقت لذكائها، لأنها اختزلت كل طاقات الحزن والحرمان الممكنة في رواية واحدة، ثم حوّلت هذه الطاقات إلى طاقة أمل، هذا الشباك الذي حفرته في الصخر، احتاج كثيراً من الجموح، من الخيال المجنح، والشعر.. أستطيع أن أقول أن هذه رواية شعرية أخرى تنضم إلى المكتبة العربية، أبطالها كلّهم مقهورون ومبتسمون، مجانين وخلاّقون، أمسكوا بيد القسوة وطوّعوها، احتالوا على الموت وصادقوه رغماً عنه.. رواية تخرج من قلب فلسطين، دون أن تتأثر بدخان الحرب، ترفع صوت الحب أعلى من الرصاص، وأعلى من المعوّقات التي تفرضها قناعات المجتمع، رواية مستغرقة بالروحانية، الروحانية الماكرة التي استطاعت أن تلوي يد الظرف لصالح هؤلاء الأبطال المغلوبين على أمرهم. كأن ميرفت جمعة بلغتها الباذخة والعالية، ومن خلال ثقافتها الساطعة في الرواية، تحاول أن تقترح حلّاً مقنعاً يخلّصنا من الموت العلني اليومي، كأنها تهمس لنا بالحل الأمثل: الحب؛ حب الله ..وحب الناس!
