لم يشعر الصياد إلا وهجوم مفاجىء ينقض على صنارته، وتمهل لتأكد من أنها فعلا اصطادت شيئا..ثم على حين غفلة جذب الخيط جذبة قوية، ثم أردفها يلف الخيط بسرعة إلى أن بدت سمكته كسبيكة من الفضة تتماوج على صفحة الماء الأزرق البديع. والتفت نصف التفاتة إلى الغلام يطلب منه (الغانجو) وماهي إلا لحظات حتى كان يمسك بها بين يديه قائلا لزوجته : "هات سلتك" واستبشرت الزوجة خيرا.. هاهي ذي أفكار زوجها تتحقق...! ولم يلتفت إليها، بل أعاد الطعم إلى صنارته ورمى بها إلى البحر... وما لبث أن انسجم مع صيده الذي توفرت له منه أسماك كثيرة... وجلست الزوجة هذه المرة وهي تراقب زوجها في إعجاب ، ثم لاحظت عودة الصيادين،وقد حملوا معهم أدوات صيدهم يقتربون منهم.. ولشد ما اندهشت عندما علمت أن السلطة منعتهم من أكل الحوت الكبير مخافة أن يكون مسموما... والتفت إليها زوجها، هذه المرة، وبريق عينيه يحمل ألف معنى، في حين لم يكتم الغلام ضحكته التي انطلقت منه عالية ما لبثت أن أصابت الصياد فضحك ملء شدقيه...
