للاستقبال الرسمي في تدمر حساباته الخاصة، إذ توجّب علينا المرور بين عشرين شرطياً وقفوا على جانبي الدرب بكل عتادهم: كابلات عريضة، قضبان حديد بقطر ستة ملم، وفي اختصار شديد: كل ما يؤلم مسموح به، ولم نعد نعلم أي صنف من المخلوقات نحن. أما وضعي فكان سيئاً جداً، أنزف من جرح فوق عيني ومن رأسي، وقد كسر أنفي.. كل ذلك بأقل من خمس دقائق. وسمعنا صوتاً مدوياً يقول: "مين..، إنت ولا!! ولك حيوان انت". وكل واحد منا يظن أنه هو الحيوان المقصود، ثم قام المسؤول عن المعتقل بإلقاء خطاب فينا طالباً منا التصفيق.
