لقد أصبحت الزراعة ميدانا مهما من ميادين المعرفة الحديثة وعاملا أساسيا في استقرار تنمية المجتمعيات البشرية وتطوير اقتصادها في ضوء ما توفره من مختلف مصادر الغذاء النباتية كالحبوب ،البقوليات وغيرها والمصادر الحيوانية كالحليب ، اللحوم والبيض ، فضلا عن استخدام المخلفات الثانوية للإنتاج الزراعي ، بشقيه النباتي والحيواني ، في مختلف الصناعات لقد قامت خلال القرن العشرين المنصرم مؤسسات ثقافية عدة في العالم العربي بإصدار معاجم علمية وفنية للتعريف بالمصطلحات الأجنبية حتى يبقى الاتصال الحضاري بيننا وبين العالم الغربي باتجاهين كما يجب أن يكون عليه الحال بهدف مواكبة التطور العلمي في هذا المجال الحيوي خلال النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين المنصرم شهدت علوم الثروة الحيوانية على اختلافها وصناعة الاعلاف الكثير من التطورات واستخدام التقانات الحديثة ( من مساكن ومعدات ولوازم التربية والانتاج ) في مجال تربية وانتاج الحيوان الزراعي ، وقد رافق هذا التطور الكبير ظهور مصطلحات كثيرة لتواكب ما استجد في مجال تربية وانتاج مختلف الحيوانات الزراعية من الماشية والدواجن وكذلك صناعة الأعلاف . مما جعل القارئ والدارس العربي معرضا للكثير من مصطلحات العلوم الزراعية في قراءاته العامة أو في قراءاته المتخصصة للمقالات والبحوث العلمية في مجال تربية وإنتاج الحيوان الزراعي ، مما لا شك فيه إن معرفة القارئ والدارس لعلوم الانتاج الحيواني ، بمختلف أنماطه ، ما تعنيه المصطلحات الزراعيةالأجنبية باللغة العربية تزيد من مفهوم تلك المصطلحات لديه عمقا واستيعابا ودقة التحديد ، وهو ما يهدف اليه هذا القاموس
