"إنّ إيجاد جبهة من الأمم العربية تكون سداً ضد المطامع الأجنبية الاستعمارية وقوة يكون لها وزن كبير في إقرار المسائل السياسيّة الكبرى هو جزء متمّم لغاية الحزب السياسيّة". • «إننا، نحن السوريّين القوميّين، نوجّه كل قوانا، فيما يختص بالمسائل القوميّة إلى أهداف أمتنا نحن. أما فيما يختص بالمسائل المتعلقة بالعالم العربي كله فإني أعلن أنه متى أصبحت المسألة مسألة مكانة العالم العربي كله تجاه غيره من العوالم، فنحن هم العرب قبل غيرنا. نحن جبهة العالم العربي وصدره وسيفه وترسه، ونحن حماة الضاد ومصدر الإشعاع الفكريّ في العالم العربي كله». بوينس آيرس في 15 أبريل/نيسان 1940 • وقد أنبأتُ الأمة السورية بأضرار تلك العقلية العروبيّة الوهميّة والاتكالية، وشرحتُ في كتاباتي واقع العالم العربي الذي هو واقع أمم ومجتمعات متقاربة يسهل تعاونها وتشكيل جبهة تعاونية منها، لا واقع أمة واحدة ومجتمع واحد. وناديت الأمة السورية إلى النهوض بنفسها لتتمكن من الاشتغال في قضايا العالم العربي، ولتكون قوة فاعلة في تكوين الجبهة العربية. كل شيء، بيروت، العدد 95، 21/1/1949 • كثيرون هم الذين يحرصون كل الحرص على ان تكون النهضة مقتصرة على سورية بل متناولة كل الأمم العربية. إن هؤلاء ليسوا اكثر حرصاً مني ومنكم على ذلك. ولكن النهضة العربية العامة التي تشمل كل الأقوام العربية لا يمكن ان تتحقق بالقضاء على قوميات الأمم العربية، بل بنهوض هذه القوميات وقيام كل امة بشؤون الاتحاد العملي في حياة الأمم 1937.12.31.30 • إن استعمال لغة اجنبية بيننا نحن الإثنين ونحن قوميان يجرح شعور العزة القومية ويجعل عواطف حبنا مرتكزة على تعابير أجنبية تجعل لغتنا القومية خارجة عن هذا الأساس الروحي وتقلل ارتباطنا بها وهذا يُحدث فراغاً روحياً في حياتنا وعواطفنا القومية التي يجب أن تتجلى في كل مظهر من مظاهر حياتنا. من رسالة إلى زوجته 1940.11.20
