اختيرت "امرأة العام" في اليونان.
رئيسة فخرية لنادي السيدات الدولي.
عضوة فخرية في جمعية الأولمبيك للمعوقين.
عضوة في نادي السيدات الثقافي في رودوس.
أسّست جمعية النساء الدبلوماسيات العربيات، وكانت رئيسة لها.

عايشت عصمت الحجار الملحوق وزوجها عبد الله الملحوق، مراحل حساسة وخطيرة من تاريخ لبنان والعالم العربي، بدءاً من هزيمة العرب العام 67 وتداعياتهاـ مروراً بالحرب الأهلية في لبنان وعمليات خطف الرهائن واحتجازهم التي كانت هي وعائلتها إحدى ضحاياها.
تروي عصمت الملحوق تجربة حياتها الدبلوماسية خلال أكثر من ثلث قرن، تنقلت خلالها وزوجها بين بيروت والخرطوم والجزائر واليونان، وتعرضت فيها عائلتها لخطر الموت أكثر من مرة، ومن أكثر من جهة، وتركت في حياتها ندوباً وآثاراً من الصعب أن تنسى وتنمحي.
هي سيرة سيدة لبنانية-سعودية دخلت عالم الدبلوماسية على غير موعد، وشاركت زوجها مهماته، بحلوها ومرّها، وتركت أينما حلّت صورة مشرقة عن الدور الذي يمكن أن تساهم به المرأة العربية عموماً، والسعودية خصوصاً، في عملية نهضة بلادها.
