أمام زجاج مطبخ أحد البيوت الدمشقية و في وقت المغرب كنت واقفاً أحملق في السماء و جبل قاسيون و البيوت التي تغزوه و تتغلغل فيه في أصابع حي يدعى المهاجرين, و كأنهم تركوا الأرض و بدأوا رحلة الهجرة إلى السماء, فلمعت الفكرة في رأسي كأي فكرة مجنونة تمر برأس مراهق ليجعل منها قراراً مصيرياً ثم يعود عنه في اليوم التالي. سارعت في صبيحة اليوم التالي إلى شراء دستة من الورق المسطّر, و عدت للبيت سعيداً بمظهرها, وضعتها على الطاولة و وضعت إلى جانبها كأس شاي و قلماً و جلست خلف الطاولة كالكتّاب... حملت القلم و وضعت رأسه على السطر الأول ثم وقفت... ليحل السكون. كانت في رأسي تدور و لا تعرف كيف تنزل, فأنا لم أكتب من قبل... ظللت على حالي تلك مدة طويلة, و أنا أتأمل الورق و الورق يتأملني, و الكلمات تضج في رأسي و لا تعرف إلى الورق طريقاً... كانت تلك أول لحظة ضعف و تراجع, قالت لي فيها نفسي إن فكرة الرواية هي واحدة ككل المشاريع التي بدأتها.. لن تكملها... ثم و بعد سكون طويل, مر طيفها بي... فانهمرت على الورق كدموع حبيسة كانت تنتظر الخلوة لتخرج من الداخل... و من يومها لم أعد قادراً على إيقافها. أذكر أني سمعت مرة أحدهم يقول: "إن أكثر الكتاب حظاً هم الذين تمر الكلمات عبرهم و لا تخرج منهم..." لقد مرت بي, و لم آت بشيء من عندي, كانت هناك و كانت كاملة.. كل ما كان عليّ هو التقاطها و تحويلها لكلمات دون أن أضيف عليها شيئاً... و لكأنه كتب بي, فله كل الشكر أن فعل... أما و أن روايتي هذه وصلت يديك, فإن من حقك عليّ أن أحذرك... هي قصة ثورة لكنها لن تصل بك إلى الحرية, قد تذيبك عشقاً لكنها ليست قصة حب, هي رحلة بحث عن الله... لكنها لن تعثر لك عليه... ﻷﺳﺒﺎب أﻣﻨﻴﺔ ﺳﻴﺘﻢ ﻧﴩ ﻫﺬا اﻟﻌﻤﻞ اﻵن دون ذﻛﺮ اﺳﻢ اﻟﻜﺎﺗﺐ و ﻻ ﺣﺘﻰ اﻻﺳﻢ اﻟﻮﻫﻤﻲ ﻟﻪ, و ﺳﺘﺘﻮﻓﺮ ﻟﻬﺎ ﻧﺴﺨﺔ اﻟﻜﱰوﻧﻴﺔ ﻓﻘﻂ, إﱃ أن ﻳﺸﺎء اﻟﻠﻪ و ﻳﺼﺒﺢ ﺑﺎﻹﻣﻜﺎن ﻧﴩﻫﺎ ﰲ دور ﻧﴩ ﺣﺮة ﰲ ﺳﻮرﻳﺎ.
