نبذة النيل والفرات: اللغة العبرية ذات صلة كبيرة بلغتنا العربية، لذا كان من المفيد لكل من ينطق بالضاد، أن يكون على حظ وافر من الدراية بها، لأن اللغتين العربية والعبرية توأمان مرتبطان بعضهما ببعض متصلان اتصالاً وثيقاً وعميقاً. ولخبرة المؤلف الطويلة في تدريس اللغة العبرية، وجد أن من واجبه، تحضير كتاب لتعليم هذه اللغة للمبتدئين والمتقدمين لسدّ حاجة طالب العلم والمثقف العربي الذين يتوقان للتعرف على هذه اللغة استهل الكتاب بتمهيد عن اللغة العبرية وصلتها باللغة العربية، ثم سردٍ لأبجدية اللغة العبرية ومنها إلى دروس حياتية واقعية تسير مع الواقع الحياتي، ثم قواعد موجزة لتنمية مهارات تعلم اللغة، القراءة، والكتابة والفهم والنطق والاستيعاب. وبالإضافة إلى مصطلحات حياتية تسير بالمتعلم في مجالات الحياة اليومية ليعيش مع اللغة في كل وقت ومكان، فقد أفرد المؤلف قسماً من الكتاب للمكاتبات والمراسلات، ليتمكن المتعلم من كتابة طلباته ورسائله بسهولة ويسر، كما ويضمنه قطعاً شعرية ونثرية تمكن المتعلم من التعرف على طبيعة الأدب العبري، وأما القسم الأخير من الكتاب فقد احتوى على قصة سيدنا موسى (عليه السلام) بلغة عبرية سهلة، اتبعها بفضول مترجمة من التوراة والعديد من السور القرآنية الكريمة التي أوردها المؤلف بنصها العربي وما يقابله باللفظ بالأحرف العبرية.
