يتناول هذا الكتاب الأداء التمثيلي خارج المسارح في جميع المناسبات بمعنى أنه يتناول ظاهرة تقديم العروض المسرحية للجمهور العابر في الشارع. وهو بهذا المعنى كتاب غير مسبوق.
إنه يجمع بين تدريبات فن الممثل بأسلوب منهجي مدروس، يساعده على ابتكار والتجديد، ويدربه على استخدام أدوات عادية مثل: الطبق، الملعقة، العصا، وما إليها، وتطويعها لخدمة عروض مسرح الشارع. ويحتوي على مجموعة من النصوص المكتوبة خصيصاً لمسرح الشارع، وهي ليست نصوصاً منفصلة، بل هي أيضاً تطبيقات للتدريبات.
وهذا ما قد يجعل لهذا الكتاب أهمية بالغة في نظر رجال المسرح (الممثلين ومخرجين ومؤلفين) في مصر، لأنه يقدم لهم نوعاً جديداً من المسرح لم يسبقه إليه كتاب آخر.
