توني ماغواير هي كاتبة بريطانية نالت شهرة عظيمة في كتابة السير الشخصية وكانت سيرتها الذاتية "لا تخبري ماما" وهي كتابها الأول من الكتب الأكثر مبيعاً في المملكة المتحدة في عام 2007 مما شجعها على إصدار الجزء الثاني من سيرتها الذاتية "حين يعود أبي إلى المنزل" والتي عززت شهرة ماغواير التي نالتها على كتابها الأول. وكان نجاحها الباهر في كتابيها الأولين واللذان كانا عن تعرضها للإستغلال الجنسي من طرف أبيها مشجعاً للكثيرين كي يحكوا حكاياتهم عن الإستغلال الجنسي لماغواير مما شكل لديها مكتبة في الموضوع لتصدر بعد ذلك خمسة كتب إضافية كلها سير شخصية لأفراد تعرضوا للإستغلال الجنسي من ذويهم. وهي الآن بصدد نشر روايتها الأولى. بعد هذه الرحلة من النجاح في عالم السير الشخصية.
ولربما لا بد لي من تبيان الفرق بين السيرة الذاتية والسيرة الشخصية. السيرة الذاتية هي حكاية حياة الكاتب ذاته.. يكتبها على شكل سردي يشبه الرواية إلى حد ما.. بينما السيرة الشخصية هي حكاية حياة شخص آخر عدا الكاتب.. يكتبها بشكل يراه الكاتب مناسباً.
مما لا شك فيه مأساوية هذا الكتاب. وحقيقة أنه سيرة ذاتية لا رواية يعزز من التأثير العاطفي لموضوعه على القاريء. وقد عبر هذا الكتاب عن مكنونات صدر ماغواير التي تعرضت للإعتداء الجنسي من قبل والدها في طفولتها لمدة سبع سنين وقد بدأت هذه الإعتداءات منذ أن كانت في السادسة من عمرها واستمرت إلى عمر الثالثة عشر وتعرضت للإجهاض مرة واحدة.. وفي سن الخامسة عشر كانت قد أقدمت على محاولتي إنتحار فاشلتين.. وقضت ثلاث سنين في مشفى للأمراض العقلية للمعالجة من الإكتئاب.
