و.. مات الجسد وانتهت كل الحكايات، فهل بموت الجسد تنتهي كل الحكايات التشاؤمية؟ عندما طرح هذا السؤال على سعود الشعلان أجاب: العنوان رمز قد تكون كل الحكايات التشاؤمية انتهت، ولكن المقصود بالجسد الروح فإذا مات الجسد فإن الروح لم تمت، الروح قد تنتقل إلى ذلك الجسد ولكن بصفات مختلفة، الروح إذا بقيت تبقى الحكايا سواء ظاهرياً أو باطنياً...".
الشخصيتان الرئيستان في الرواية هما: "نازك" و"سعيد" اسمين مستعارين لشخصيتين حقيقيتين، لكل واحدة منهما حكايتها، يتفقان في الألم، وعبث الأقدار، فأراد ان يضما حداً لآلامهم كلٌ على طريقته، فمن سينتصر في النهاية الحب أم الأقدار؟ الأمل أم الألم؟
عندما أسعف محمد صديقه سعيد إلى المستشفى بعد محاولته الانتحار وجد في قبضته قصاصة ورق مكتوب عليها بخط صاحبها: "إلى من يخبرني .. فيجد هذه الورقة معي.. أياً كان، قد آن الأوان كي أضع حلاً لمأساتي.. وأسدل الستار على آخر فصول حياتي.. قد آن الأوان.. لا توقف عن البكاء ويبدأ به من كانوا سبباً في تعاستي.. إن أهمهم أمري.. فلقد عزمت على الرحيل...".
أما أجمل تعبير اختزل حالة الرواية، قد وضعها الروائي في ختام عمله أبيات من الشعر/ صاحب السمو الأمير عبد الله الفيصل/ يقول فيها: وزوري ثراي إذا ما السكون/ أطل وعند الثرى فاركعي/ لئن ضمَ جسمي ذاك الثرى/ لقد ضمَ عهدي وحبي معي/ وحطَي على القبر بعض الزهور/ ففي الزهر ذكرى اللقا الممتع".
"فقد الجسد ينهي كل الحكايات سؤال أطرحه مـن جديد مراراً وتكراراً... هل بمجرد غياب الجسد تموت كل مشاعرنا وأحاسيسنا التي هو من أوجدها؟!!؟..
رواية أعتقد من وجهة نظري بأنها تستحق القراءة... فهي جديرة بذلك.. وأن لا يفجعكم في فقد عزيز وغالي لديكم.. فما هي".
