نبذة النيل والفرات: لدراسة الاقتصاد السياسي أهمية خاصة في المجتمعات المعاصرة باعتباره من العلوم الاجتماعية ذات الأهمية في مواجهة التحديات الناتجة عن مشكلات التخلف الاقتصادي المعاصر وهذه الدراسة المعدة لطلبة الجامعات تعني أساساً بالتعريف على المشكلة الاقتصادية كمحدد للنطاق الموضوعي للاقتصاد السياسي كعلم اجتماعي وعلم كيفية حل هذه المشكلة في النظامين الرأسمالي والاشتراكي. يقع الكتاب في ثلاثة أقسام رئيسية يعرض القسم الأول لموضوع الاقتصاد السياسي والمعارف التي تدخل في نطاقه كما يبين المقصود بالمشكلة الاقتصادية وما تثيره من موضوعات. ويبحث في الخصائص التي تتميز بها هذه المعرضة والضوابط التي تخضع لها. أما القسم الثاني فهو عرض شامل للمعارف والقوانين الأساسية اللازمة لتفهم الجوانب الرئيسية المتعلقة بالإنتاج والتوزيع في المجتمع. كما يبحث في جوانب النشاط الاقتصادي وحل المشكلة الاقتصادية، في مختلف التكوينات الاقتصادية. بينما يتطرق القسم الثالث إلى أساليب حل المشكلة المتقدمة على ضوء ما تم درسه في القسمين الأول والثاني في كل من النظامين الرأسمالي والاشتراكي.
