ترجمة يوسف نبيل ومن إصدارات آفاق للنشر والتوزيع وحيث الجزء الرابع صدر حديثاً
بالكاد اكتشف أي كاتب القيمة الروحية والوجودية لليوميات بالشكل الذي اكتشفه ليو تولستوي (1828 - 1910)، التي بدأ أول دفتر فيها وهو في سن الثامنة عشرة، في آذار/ مارس 1847، أثناء وجوده في سرير المستشفى وهو يتعالج من مرض تناسلي، كان بالفعل على وشك طرده من الجامعة بسبب أدائه الأكاديمي الضعيف، ودفعَه الحجز القسري في المستشفى إلى بدء رحلة استكشاف الذات التي ستمتدّ طوال حياته.
ما يجعل هذه اليوميات - التي ينقلها المترجم المصري يوسف نبيل إلى العربية في ستّة أجزاء، صدر منها ثلاثة والرابع على وشك الصدور عن دار "آفاق" - مثيرة للاهتمام بشكل خاص هو وجودها الموازي في ماضيه ومستقبله، كانت بالنسبة إليه مشروعاً تجريبياً يهدف إلى استكشاف طبيعة الذات من خلال مفاهيم مثل الأخلاق والذاكرة والوعي والوقت.
في يوميات كتبها وهو في منتصف عشرينياته وعنونها "يوميات الضعف"، قام تولستوي بتمييز تطوّره الأخلاقي، وركز على حماقاته بدلاً من مآثره ودوّن عيوبه ورآها في الكسل والتردّد والغرور. وخصص صاحب "الحرب والسلام" أحد دفاتره للماضي والمستقبل؛ مقسّماً الصفحة إلى عمودين يُخصّص الأول لـ"الماضي" ويدوّن فيه المهمة وأسباب الإخفاق، والثاني لـ "المستقبل"، ولم تكن توجد خانة للحاضر في يومياته. وكان لديه دفاتر لـ "قواعد للحياة" و"قواعد من أجل تطوير الإرادة" و"قواعد لعب الورق في موسكو".
يتحدّث يوسف نبيل لـ "العربي الجديد" عن تجربة نقل هذه اليوميات قائلاً: "أنا مغرم بتولستوي منذ فترة طويلة، وعند بدء عملي بالترجمة لاحظت أن هناك جزءاً كبيراً مفقوداً في ترجماته، يتمثّل في أعماله الفكرية، فبحثتُ عن طريقة لتقديم أعماله الفكرية للقارئ العربي بمشاركة دار آفاق، فترجمت ثلاثة كتب قبل اليوميات: "طريق الحياة"، و"في الدين والعقل والفلسفة"، و"في العلم والأخلاق والسياسة". الثاني والثالث هو تجميع لعددٍ من أشهر وأهمّ مقالاته ورسائله".
