إن المعبد الفرعوني ليس مكانًا للعبادة فحسب، بل هو تجسيد حيّ للإنسان، الذي هو بدوره تجسيد حيّ للكون كله. إن من يملك أسرار المعبد سيكون قادرًا على فهم الكون: كيف نشأ، وما الغاية من ورائه؟
إن مؤلف هذا الكتاب هو أحد من حاولوا أن يسيروا في طريق فهم الفلسفة الكامنة وراء البناء الفرعوني، فقد رفض أن يقبل التفسيرات المعتادة لتشوّهات الأبنية لفرعونية، وأدرك أن كل ما نراه من مظاهر لا منطقية في هذه الأبنية العظيمة إنما هو "مقصود ومتعمّد"، وأنه يعبر عن فلسفة باطنية تنتظر من يفهمها بالطريقة التي قصدها المصري القديم. إن المعبد يتحدث إلينا منذ آلاف السنين، لكن القليل منا فقط من أصاخوا السمع إليه.
