وتكشف الشهادات التي يضمّها هذا الكتاب، أن النساء اللواتي وقعن في الأسر من قبل تنظيم داعش، قد اعتُبرن على الفور سبايا للمتعة الجنسية، كما نجد أن النساء اللائي سافرن بإرادتهن إلى داعش، سواء كن مخدوعات أو مقتنعات بمبادئه، فإن وظيفتهن كانت في غالبية الأحيان التسرية عن الرجال، وإن كان عن طريق الزواج، وهو زواج كان يستمر في الغالب أسابيع، وقد يمتد إلى شهور..
والكتاب يشتمل على العديد من الفصول، إذ تم تخصيص الفصل الأول لبيان حال النساء المسبيات قبل اجتياح وفي الفصل الثالث، نموذج لنساء ذهبن بمحض إرادتهن إلى داعش،وفي الفصل الرابع نماذج لنساء تم تجنيدهن وإقناعهن بالسفر للانضمام الى التنظيم، في حين تعود المؤلفة في الفصلين الخامس والسادس الى النساء الأيزيديات، وفي الفصل السابع، تروي النساء اللاتي ذهبن بمحض إرادتهن ما حدث لهن، وفي الفصل الثامن روايات من نساء عدن من أسر هذا التنظيم، أما الفصل التاسع فيعرض لحكايات عن أطفال وُلدوا في كنف داعش، وكيف تعامل الغرب مع العائدات من داعش، لا سيما فرنسا.
