الكتاب يستعرض فترة حكم الرئيس المخلوع محمد مرسي، مسلطا الضوء على الخيانات التى ارتكبها فى حق الشعب والوطن وكانت السبب وراء الإطاحة به هو وجماعته.
ويعد الكتاب بمثابة محاكمة علنية لمرسي، أو كما يصفه المؤلف بـ"الخائن الأعظم"، لما اقترفته يداه من مؤامرات متتالية وولائه لجماعة الإخوان المسلمين على حساب مصلحة الوطن، ومعاركه ضد مؤسسات الدولة للسيطرة عليها وإهانته هو وجماعته للمؤسسة القضائية، وإقصائه لكافة التيارات السياسية.
"أيام مرسي" شهادة يعتبرها "الباز" مسئولة لكاتب عاش الأحداث واقترب مما جرى، ويرى أنه من الإثم أن يكتم شهادته عما كان من تفاصيل ووقائع مختلفة تحكى عن جرائم مرسى خلال فترة حكمه.. شهادة موثقة بالمستندات التى تنشر لأول مرة، مبينة كيف انتهى به الحال إلى الفشل والثورة عليه وعزله فى 30 يونيو 2013.
ويقول الباز فى مقدمة كتابه: "هذه محاولة لتوثيق جزء مهم من تاريخ مصر، جزء يعنى للمصريين الكثير، لأنهم لم يكونوا بعيدًا عنه، بل عملوا فى قلبه لتحرير بلدهم من جماعة إرهابية ورئيس لم يكن إلا ممثلا لمكتب الإرشاد فى قصر الرئاسة".
