خمس رسائل متجانسة الموضوعات، متناسبة المضمونات، إذا ضمت كل منها إلى أخواتها ، وزينت بأشباهها ومثيلاتها ازدادت حسنا ورونقا ، وزادت علما منمقا، تصدرتها (مقدمة التمهيد) لابن عبد البر لأهميتها وأصالتها فيما تضمنته من مسائل عديدة مهمة من علم المصطلح، ثم رسالة قيمة نفيسة هي: (وصل البلاغات الأربعة في الموطأ ) حيث وصل ابن عبد البر كل مقطوع ومرسل وبلاغ في الموطأ سوى أربعة بلاغات تناولها ابن الصلاح فيها، ثم رسالة: (ما لا يسع المحدث جهله) للميانشي، ثم رسالة الإمام الطحاوي: (التسوية بين حدثنا وخبرنا) لقوة حجتها ونصاعة استدلالها، ثم ختم الكتاب برسالة: (في جواز حذف قال عند قولهم: حدثنا) لأبي عبد الله الفاسي لقوتها استدلالا ، واتساعها بحثا ودراسة. فجاءت تلك الرسائل فرائد منظومة، وخرائد مختومة بعد جمعها في سمط واحد.
