على المرء قبل أن ينهض للحج أن يهيئ أموره وحاجاته وأن يقرر في نفسه أنه ربما كتب له أن لا يعود على بلده من هذه السفرة المقدسة. ومن الواجب عليه أن يبقى بين أيدي أهله صبابة من المال تعينهم أبان غيابه على تحمل الحياة مدة عام. لم تقتصر الكاتبة الجليلة على تصوير المشاهد التي يقوم عليها الحج وعلى زورة الرسول (ص) بالمدينة المنورة وإنما أبعدت البحث فوق ذلك فإذا هي محققة عن منازل المساجد الغابرة والأضرحة والآبار والطرق وبعث الذكريات الخالدات في أعمال الرسول وحروبه وفتوحه فكانت تصعد مسندة في الجبال وبلغت غار (حراء) وأخذت تصفه في أعاليه النسرية الرائعة.
وجعلت السيرة النبوية دليلاً لها في كتابها هذا العظيم فأتت منازل الملاحم النبوية كوقعة بدر ووقعة أحد فيا لبيانها المٌصَفّى واقتدارها الفني في الوصف والتصوير والشرح .
