ويعتمد كتاب “العلاقات الصينية الأمريكية.. وأثر التحول فى النظام الدولى” على تحليل أبعاد التحول فى النظام الدولى الحالى، ومدى تأثير هذا التحول فى إحداث تغييرات هيكلية على نمط العلاقات الثنائية بين الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية والصين، وانعكاس هذا التحول على أهداف وقضايا العلاقات على المستوى الثنائى، والإقليمى، والدولى بكافة أبعادها الاقتصادية والسياسية والأمنية والأدوات المستخدمة لتحقيق تلك الأهداف، آخذًا فى الاعتبار مكانة الدولتين كقوى كبرى فى النظام الدولى تؤثر وتتأثر بتحولات هذا النظام، بالإضافة إلى أبرز العوامل الحاكمة والمحددات للعلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين وتأثير الصعود الصينى على تلك العلاقات، وصولًا إلى تحديد الوسائل لتطوير العلاقات الثنائية المستقبلية بين البلدين.
ويعرض كتاب “العلاقات الصينية الأمريكية.. وأثر التحول فى النظام الدولى” مدى تأثير العلاقات الأمريكية الصينية على الساحة الدولية بدرجة كبيرة خاصة فى ظل عصرنا الحالى. حيث نجد أن حل المشكلات الدولية الرئيسية مثل عدم الاستقرار المالى العالمى، ومنع انتشار الأسلحة، والإرهاب، والتغير المناخى، وعدم الاستقرار فى أسعار الطاقة يتطلب بذل الجهود المشتركة من جهة بكين وواشنطن، بالإضافة إلى أنه فى ظل العولمة نجد أن التحديات العابرة للقوميات تتطلب كذلك حلول عابرة للقوميات.
ويتكون كتاب “العلاقات الصينية الأمريكية.. وأثر التحول فى النظام الدولى” من خمسة فصول وهم: الفصل الأول يشمل الأبعاد السياسية والاقتصادية والثقافية فى تحول النظام الدولى، أما الفصل الثانى يناقش تأثير التحول فى النظام الدولى على قضايا العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، أما الفصل الثالث يشمل تأثير التحول فى النظام الدولى على القضايا الإقليمية، والفصل الرابع يناقش تأثير التحول الدولى على العلاقات الأمريكية الصينية فى المجال الاقتصادى، والفصل الخامس يشمل تأثير التحول فى النظام الدولى على العلاقات الأمريكية الصينية فى المجال الثقافى (القوة الناعمة).
