كما يضم الكتاب ملاحق ترجمة غير رسمية لدساتير اثيوبيا , الصومال , جيبوتي ومسودة مشروع الدستور الاريتري المعلق دون المصادقة عليه منذ 1997م.
يأتي هذا البحث المهم في وقت تعاني منه شعوب منطقة القرن الإفريقي تراجعات كبرى في ظل إنهيار تام لدور الدولة المدنية وسيطرة السلاح والحروب الأهلية وسيطرة عدد من الديكتاتوريات العنيفة وغياب القانون ، كما ويشهد القرن حراكا شعبيا باسلا أثمر عن إنهيار وزوال الحكم السياسي في السودان بإنتصار حاسم حققه الشعب السوداني ضد حكم البشير والنظام الشمولي للجبهة القومية الإسلامية.
كما وتتحرك إثيوبيا حثيثا نحو إرساء دولة القانون والعدالة والديمقراطية. يذكر ان الأستاذ عبد المنعم أبو إدريس من متابعي لشؤون وشجون القرن الإفريقي،كما يتمتع بشبكة علاقات واسعة مع مكوناته على كل المستويات وخاصة بالشعبين الإيتري والإثيوبي. عبد المنعم أبو إدريس يعمل حاليا مراسلا لوكالة الصحافة الفرنسية بالخرطوم ، كما عمل في عدد من الصحف السودانية.
