ثابت، تلك الروحٌ المعلقة بين فُسحة السماء الرحْبة، وضيق الأرض المُطبق على الأنفاس. هذا القلبٌ السائر في طريق القدر المرسوم، المتدحرج بفعل القدر المدبر، القادر أيضًا على ضبط الاتجاه، وبيده الاختيار؛ إما أن يظل في رحابة السماء، أو يقيد ذاته في سجن الأرض. ثابت، حكايةٌ عالقة بين القنديل والحلبة، بين وسواس الرغبات الجامحة وتنهيدة الخشوع والاستسلام لمعية الله. صراعٌ محتدم بين الخير والشر، تظهر فيه السيطرة والخضوع على حدٍ سواء، بين الرغبة في تحقيق الذات والوصول إلى مرتبة المناديب، وبين التيه والشرود الذي قد يسحب المعنى والقيمة من كل الإنجازات فتصبح بلا قيمة روحية. لمن الغلبة في النهاية؟ وهل ثمة نهاية أم أنه صراع أبدي؟ هل تتمايل كفة القنديل على حساب الحلبة؟ أم ربما العكس؟ وبين كلا الاحتمالين، ما مصير ثابت وروحه؟ هل ستتحقق أمنيته بالتقاء السماء مع الأرض، أم هذا محض وهم؟! دوامةٌ من الأسئلة يتوه فيها القارئ أثناء قراءته حكاية (قنديل ثابت) بحثّا عن الحقيقة، وسعيًا وراء الكمال.
