يتحدث الكتاب عن صفحات من تاريخ شخصيات هاشمية (هاشميون وهاشميات)، وقد ورد فيه ما يزيد عن 200 وثيقة عثمانية، وهي عبارة عن فرمان شريف مكة حسن بن محمد أبو نمي الثاني 973 هـ وفرمانات أمراء مكة المكرمة للفترة من 1202هـ - 1334هـ، وتعيينات ووفيات وأوسمة وأختام شخصية ومخصصات مالية من الصرة الهمايونية، بالإضافة إلى ذكر شيء من أخبار هؤلاء.
كذلك يتضمّن الكتاب صورًا من العهد العثماني للحرمين الشريفين والمشاعر المقدسة ومسجد عبد الله بن العباس رضي الله عنهما بالطائف وغيرها.
وينفرد الكتاب بمعلومات حصرية عن الأرشيف العثماني بإسطنبول الذي يحتوي على 100 مليون وثيقة عثمانية.
