حين تكتب "رحاب أبو زيد" تُحسن تشخيص الواقع، وحين نقرأ نحن ما تكتب نكون أمام نوع من المقاربة بين سلطة الكلام وسلطة الفعل، ذلك لأن الكلام حين يقع في الموقع المناسب من النفس تكون له مفاعيله الإيجابية والبناءة حتى ولو لم يكن له سلطة القبض على حقيقة الواقع، فهو لا يقل شأناً عن الفعل من حيث القدرة على التأثير وإحداث التغيير المنشود في الأفكار والمسلك والمواقف والأقوال. تحت عنوان « بتونّس بيك...» جمعت المؤلفة أبو زيد مقالات سبق نشرها في كبريات الصحف والمجلات العربية ولاسيما "مجلة اليمامة"، و"صحيفة البلاد"، و"صحيفة الجزيرة"، و"صحيفة شمس"، و"صحيفة اليوم"، و"صحيفة الشرق الأوسط"، و"مجلة سيدتي"؛ على مدى الأعوام (1997 – 2015) وهي مقالات اجتماعية تتناول فيها المؤلفة قضايا فكرية وأخلاقية مرتبطة بشؤون وشجون المجتمع العربي عامة ومجتمعها المحلي خاصة، وتواكب وقائع الساعة التي كتبت فيها، بالزمان والمكان والحدث. قدَّم للكتاب بكلمة الأستاذ حسن السبع اعتبر فيها الكاتبة رحاب أبو زيد: "... تنأى بقلمها عن العَرَضي والزائل الذي يلهث وراءه كتَّابُ المناسبات، حيث تصبح الكتابة لدى أولئك شبيهة، وإلى حدٍّ بعيد، بتعليق بارد على نشرة أخبار ساخنة، أو بكلمات مترهّلة تُفسِّرُ ما لا يحتاج إلى تفسير، وتَشرحُ ما لا يحتاج إلى شرح. (...) وراء كل كتابة صادقة دافعاً قوياً، لا تفرضه القضية، بل يفرضه الإحساس بها والتفاعل معها ولذلك تبدو الكتابة انعكاساً لقلق الكاتب. قد يضع كاتب على قائمة أولوياته الآتي والزائل، ويحتفظ بجدول لكل المناسبات ليقول فيها كلاماً إنشائياً قاله قبل عام. ويرى آخر أن يرسَخ في النفوس القيم الجميلة عبر إبداع يتسم بالديمومة، ولا يبلى أو يبهت بتعاقب السنين. وهو ما حاولت رحاب أبو زيد أن تحققه، فاهتمت بما هو جوهري، وله صفة الديمومة...". من عناوين الكتاب نذكر: "الطريق إلى القمر"، "أحلام تتوخى القبح"، "المرأة والتائهون بين الزجاج والماس"، "رفقاً بالقوارير أيتها النساء"، "عادات وتقاليد"، "الشباب والمستقبل"، (...) وعناوين أخرى.
