وخير الكلام هو ما يقوله المؤلف عن كتابه الذي قدم له بمقدمة ومما جاء فيها: "... بعد أعوام من كتابة المقالات وجدت أن من حق وطني ومجتمعي أن أحولها لمؤلَّف. اخترت ما يفيد وصولاً للسداد، واستشفيت ما ينفع من المداد على دروب العمل ومسارات الحياة وبوابات التجارب. دائماً ما كنت أركّز في كتاباتي على قيادتي ووطني وهموم المجتمع وتداعيات القضايا وخلفيات التحديات واتجاهات المؤشرات، وطنياً وخليجياً وعربياً وعالمياً، من نقطة ارتكاز وطني ومحور اهتمام، صقلته في ذاكرتي أوجاع الغربة وسبرت أغواره تربية عميقة ودراسة متعمقة وحب للمعرفة وعشق للمشاركة.
مقالات متعددة أراها ألفة بين العقل والمعنى، وتوليفة بين الفكر والمقصد. تضمنت شؤوناً وآراء وشجوناً واستقراء للعديد من المناسبات والقضايا والتطورات في مجالات السياسة والاقتصاد والتخطيط والمجتمع والثقافة والمعرفة، أتمنى أن تكون عند حسن ظن من يقع تحت يديه هذا المؤلَّف أياً كان، صاحب منصب أو متذوق كلمة أو عابراً على درب العلم حتى يجد في ثنايا أسطري ما ينفعه مني أو ما يلهمه عن شخصي المتواضع من ذكرى خير أو دعوة صادقة في ظهر الغيب...".
قدم للكتاب بكلمة الدكتور عبد العزيز خوجة رأى فيها أن المقالات: "... أرى أنها تمثل "منهجية احترافية" في الوصف والتوصيف ومنهجاً سديداً في التحليل والمشورة. وعندما اختارني لكتابة تقديم هذا الكتاب عرفت حينها أنه من حراس الصداقة وسدنة رفقة الدرب، فوجدت نفسي أتحدث كثيراً عنه وعن عمله "المضيء" وفكره "اللامع"، فكتب منها ما يوجزه في أسطر قليلة رغم اجتيازه عدد صفحات هذا الكتاب مما أحمله له من ذكريات طيبة ومواقف جميلة، وبما أعلمه عنه من وطنية حقة ومهنية صادقة وإنسانية فاخرة.
أتمنى أن يكون هذا الكتاب منبعاً للفائدة ونبعاً للمعرفة لكل من يقرأه، وأن يكتب الله في كل عبارة وردت فيه وميضاً من الآراء السديدة والمديدة، التي تلهم القارئ، وتستلهم ما يدور في نفسه وفكره".
