في كتابه "باسم الشعب ... وللشعب" يضع القاضي الكبير وصاحب القلم المرهف والتجربة الفنية الأستاذ "غالب غانم" حصيلة تجربته الفنية في رحاب القضاء .. وهي عبارة عن مقالات كتبت بين عامي (2011-2012) خص بها جريدة السفير اللبنانية بعد خروجه من موقع القاضي وإن كان قد بقي بضميره وقلمه في قلبه ...
وفي مقدمة الكتاب يتساءل القاضي غانم: هل القضاء وسيلة أم غاية. أم الصورتان معاً (...) هل أن القضاء متعة أم مشقة؟ رخاء وارتخاء، أم تهيؤ مستديم لاتخاذ موقف ولتحمل الأصعب من المسؤوليات؟ . ومن الأسئلة التي كانت ملحة ولا تزال عنده: هل القضاء سلطة أم فرع لسلطة" وهل كل ما يقال عن استقلاله وتميزه وحريته وميدانه الخاص ومسارح فرسه الجموح هو أضغاث أحلام، وأوهام، أم أمان وأحلام قابلة للتصديق والتحقيق؟ ( ...)" في حومة هذه الأسئلة انتمى غانم إلى القضاء وبعد نضال طويل دام قرابة الثمانية والثلاثين عاما سنقرأ بشغف أهم ما في هذه التجربة عبر مقالات تعددت عناوينها نذكر منها: " بين المناعة والرضوخ " ، " أبحث عن القانون، حتى في الغابة " ، " أول الأخطار: خطر القاضي على ذاته " ، " إحراق المراحل أفضل من إحراق المراكز " ... الخ.
سُئلتُ مرةً عن الكلمة الأحبّ الى قلبي فتـردّدت حول اختيار واحدة من هذه: الحرّية، العدالة، الانفتاح، السَّلام، الرحمة.... وما لبـثتُ ان حَزَمت أمري واخترت الحرّية وقلتُ فيها «ما لم يقُـلْهُ مالك في الخــمرة» والعــشّاق المجانين في الحبّ، ومن ذلك: «تمتَّـعتُ بشميمــها الأوّل في الريف العالي منذ تَفَتّحتْ عيناي على حركة الحياة العفـويّة، وعلى الخطوط الحرّة التي تسلكها طيور السماء، وعلى الدروب التي تصل المرتَفَعَ بالمنحَدَر، والمأهولَ بالخالي، بلا تخطيط ولا تحديد.... مَلأتْ قلبي غبطةً، شقَّت طريقي في الوعر، رافقتْ ظلّي كملاكٍ حارس أحياناً وأحياناً كمحارب شرس لا يرضى الاعتداء على حقول أحلامي... الحرّية بابٌ الى الراسخ، والى المطلق، والى الخالد. الحرّية تفكّك سلاسل، وطوفان روحٍ على النصّ، وعلى الجسد».
